The Head of Government, Mrs. Naglaa Boudin Ramadan, presided this morning at the Government Palace in the Kasbah, the procession celebrating the Day of Crafts and National Costume, which falls on March 16 each year, and honored the winners of the artisans active in the sector for the year 2022, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Mr. General of the National Office of Handicrafts, Mr. Fawzi Ben Halima, and the President of the National University of Handicrafts , Mr. Saleh Amamou . On this occasion, the Head of Government honored the winner of the National Prize for the Promotion of Traditional Industries for the year 2022, Mr. Mohamed Al-Najjar Al-Harfi of the governorate of Kairouan, in the specialty of traditional artistic downloading, similar to transfer of silver material to iron to make several traditional jewelry products, as an incentive for him to excel in this craft. The Head of Government also honored the winner of the National Prize for Young Men in Handicrafts for the year 2022, Mr. Ahmed Al-Riahi Al-Harfi from the State of Beja, who is considered one of the first artisans to innovate in new ways. to weave leather materials for furnishing fabrics, in order to encourage its excellence in this specialty. On this occasion, the Head of Government underlined the importance of the sector of traditional industries and the national habit, and the concern of the State to give it its rightful place in supporting the economic and social fabric and in the development of tourism, export and employment, in addition to working to preserve these traditional, artistic and craft industries and to encourage entrepreneurs for the continuity of their activities. The Prime Minister also noted the importance of preserving the traditional and craft heritage, which embodies the specificities of national identity, to preserve it from extinction and to transmit it to future generations.
