The Head of Common Interests at the Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Yahya Chaouachi, confirmed that the Tunisian State is betting on alternative tourism, considered one of the important tributaries to enhance the regions' ingredients and preserve their cultural, civilizational and cultural. The ministry is also reviewing laws governing tourism operations in agricultural areas, and the region's request to include the commune of Zaghouan as a tourist commune and regional representative of tourism events. For his part, the Director General of the Tunisian National Tourist Office, Mr. Nizar Suleiman, indicated that the reality of investment in the field of tourism is facing several challenges, in particular the need to review the laws regulating the sector. hold a monthly session bringing together all stakeholders to overcome the difficulties faced by those who wish to invest in this field. The Regional Tourism Representative of Southern Tunisia and Zaghouan, Mr. Saleh Kassam, made a presentation on the elements of the diverse and rich tourism region, the reality of the sector, the encouragements and incentives, and the challenges presented, such as the increasing accommodation capacity and overcoming difficulties in obtaining licenses to set up tourism projects. For his part, the regional delegate for handicrafts, Mr. Sofiane Garbouj, presented a new development approach linked to the sending of private companies to valorize local forest products and market them inland and abroad. outside the region. The promoters of tourism projects established in the region and the components of civil society have raised several issues of interest to invest in the tourism sector of the region, the most important of which are: * Regional delegation of tourism in Zaghouan. * Complete the creation of the tourist area. * Enhance the archaeological monuments that abound in the Zaghouan region (600 archaeological monuments) and include a number of them on the UNESCO World Heritage List. * Overcome difficulties in obtaining licenses to establish tourism projects. * Absence of tourist itinerary. * Take care of archaeological sites.
