Sidi Bou Saïd Cage

Unique, it is one of the leading products of Tunisian handicrafts. The dome shaped wire aviary, inspired the arabesques of forged iron window (Zlabiya) derives its glowing colors – blue and white- from one of the beautiful villages in Tunisia. Diverted from its primary function, it is now a simple decorative object. Some artisans have given it a new look. Made of wire and painted and varnished olive wood, it becomes a charming trinket.  Constructed from blown glass, mounted on a metal structure, it becomes a stylized lamp.
