The know-how of women of Sejnane inscribed by UNESCO on the representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of Humanity

The potters of Sejnane, in the governorate of Bizerte offered the first inscription on the list of the intangible cultural heritage of Humanity created under the 2003 UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The sejnane pottery was distinguished among 14 other files for its heritage specificity as a living tradition deeply rooted in the life of the community and perceived as part of the local identity and know-how of women artisans of Sejnane.
